Teams of five students from different backgrounds—both in terms of academic disciplines and institution of origine—will have to choose a challenge (from a set of proposed challenges) related to biomaterials and work together to provide an innovative solution. Students will attend various sessions led by experts and professionals covering five topics: entrepreneurship, regulation of medical devices, material selection, product costs, and manufacturing. Each team will be responsible for defining the entrepreneurship strategy, scientific-technical solution, manufacturing and characterization methods, as well as regulatory considerations and cost/price estimates for their proposed innovative solution of the challenge. The team will be guided by a tutor.
