The activity provides a forum for discussion of potential solutions to unmet healthcare needs. Representatives of all stakeholders involved in the health ecosystem convene with students from a range of disciplines, including engineering branches of participating universities, other universities, and other studies. In this 2024 edition, PhD students will also be invited to present their experience of developing their doctoral projects to professionals and the wider student body from three different countries. Over the course of two weeks, students and speakers will engage in a series of 30-minute presentations, with two presentations scheduled per day, between 13:00 and 15:00 CET. This will provide an opportunity for attendees to gain insights into the diverse perspectives of healthcare professionals, patients, administrators, regulators, and technology providers. The students from different countries will form small groups and, with the assistance of the course instructors, will develop proposals for the exploration of new solutions involving emerging technologies. The proposals will be evaluated and the winning entry will receive an award at the end of the course for the best innovative and feasible idea. Prior to the commencement of the activity, groups and mentors will be arranged. The activity will be conducted in a hybrid format, comprising two weeks of online activities, (Monday to Friday), and a final in-person session on Friday, two weeks later, for the awarding and closure ceremony. This event will be held in three stages at the same time, interconnected: Madrid, Bucharest and Erlangen. It is our hope that all participants, including students, teachers and speakers, will benefit from the knowledge shared during the project, which will in turn inform the development of initiatives and projects that could be implemented in the future.
