The Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) is a short, hybrid mobility programme funded by Erasmus+. It enables students, lecturers, PhD candidates and administrative staff to participate in short-term hybrid international mobility. This programme is structured into two components:
- Physical Mobility: Lasts between 5 to 30 days.
- Virtual Activity: Conducted before, during or after the physical mobility
Funding
The coordinating institution can receive a grant ranging from €4,000 to €8,000 depending on the number of participants (between 10 and 20, excluding participants from the coordinating institution). This funding can cover:
- Instructors’ travel costs,
- Teaching materials,
- Cultural activities or visits,
- Communication materials,
- Logistics, etc.
- Additionally, teaching hours are eligible for funding under specific conditions.
BIP participants’ travel and accommodation expenses are financed through their home institutions’ Erasmus+ mobility funds, not the BIP budget.
Eligibility criteria
- Involvement of a minimum of three higher education institutions from different programme countries, including the coordinating institution of the project (e.g. three EELISA partners from different countries).
- A minimum of 10 mobile participants from the partner institutions (excluding participants from the hosting institution, who do not count toward this number but increase overall participation)
- Duration of the physical mobility: 5 to 30 days.
- Duration of the virtual activity: no duration required.
- Obligation to provide added value: innovative pedagogical approaches
- BIPs are more focused on training than research, but they can also integrate research activities activities.
In summary, BIPs are a valuable tool for funding EELISA activities.
