What is this activity about? Funded by the 4th Joint Call, the activity "Mapping Innovative Solutions for Displaced Academic Communities: Open Science and Education in Crisis Contexts", addresses the academic disruption faced by displaced Ukrainian scholars. The initiative fosters interdisciplinary collaboration, aligns with Open Science, and contributes to societal challenges. This proposal consists of three stages:
    1. An hybrid  hackathon-style event at Universidad Politecnica de Madrid (UPM) to co-develop solutions focusing on key challenges that displaced academics are currently facing.
    2. A second stage of online meetings to share lessons learned and improvements.
    3. Last but not least, a third stage, a close-up meeting with representatives from the Re-Shape Next Generation Academia, Ethics, Social Commitment & Entrepreneurship (ESCE) and Open Science Community (OSC).
The goal is to finalize the validation of a very first tool-kit to be shared with additional actors from the Ukrainian conflict and other regions around the world.  This form is open to everyone who is interested on Open Science and would like to participate during the hackathon event taking place in Madrid by April of 2025 and continue your involvement during the rest of the programme. The applications received will be carefully analyzed to ensure the alignment of your background and expertise to the topic of this call.
Who is this activity for? If you're interested in Open Science resources and the implication for displaced academics, this is your activity! We encourage all the EELISA ecosystem who are aligned with this matter to apply. Either you're an expert or not in this field, we welcome all motivated people keen on learning more and boost your connection within EELISA. As indicated previously, the applications received will be carefully analyzed to ensure the alignment of your background and expertise to the topic of this call.
When?  As mentioned before, the hackathon will take place at UPM during the first week of April and in an hybrid format. For the upcoming activities within stage 2 and 3, more information will be shared.  Deadline to complete this form: February, 14th 2025 at 23h59 PM CET
IMPORTANT NOTE: For applicants participating in stage 1 activities in Madrid this April who are not affiliated with UPM: your application for financial aid will be reviewed, and confirmation will be provided based on your eligibility and the date you submitted this form.
