TejeMat is an activity of the SSERIES community within the European University Alliance EELISA and the UPM Mathematical Thinking GIE, organized in collaboration with the Association of Solidarity Crafts La IAIA and Katia, a brand of textile crafts. Its purpose is to promote scientific culture among students, combining the languages of crochet and mathematics, two tools linked to human creativity.
TejeMat gives rise to a collection of works carried out by the students and teachers participating the project.
All of them are part of the TejeMat Exhibition: We Weave Mathematics, where you can see the projects carried out and learn about and understand the mathematical concepts from which they have been inspired. A different way of approaching and understanding Mathematics from the artistic creation of crochet.
