Winter School in Advanced Biomedical Engineering
The Winter School “Advanced Biomedical Engineering for the Society” will take place at UPB between 25-28.01.2023, jointly organized by UPB and UPM. Biomedical Engineering (BME) is the fastest growing engineering discipline with projected employment growth of 72% by 2030 and involving advanced tasks for improving people's health. Location: University Politehnica of Bucharest, CAMPUS Research Institute, Conference Hall.
The following teaching & learning topics are foreseen:
25.01.2023 – Technology in nanomedicine, Proteins engineering, Drug delivery systems, Synthetic polymers for biomedical applications
26.01.2023 –Trends in biosensors, Wearable sensors for a healthier society, Magnetic and optical hyperthermia against cancer
27.01.2023 – Trends in biosensors, Neurotechnology for Neuroscience
28.01.2023 – Artificial organs and 3D Printing, Hydrogels, Organ-on-chips
Each day will consist of the following activities:
- Lectures covering the topic with a significant focus on contribution to the enhancement of medical treatments and the overall health of the population
- Problem-based learning with small projects done in teams
- Practical experiments in the labs by using advanced research infrastructure on bio-printing, nanoindentation, micro and nano computer tomography, AFM-nanoFTIR, etc.
