While the world is rapidly heading towards a circular economy, the bioeconomy is gaining traction. This Community develops activities and products using alternative biobased materials in the textile industry. The subject is transdisciplinary and includes various levels of understanding: culture, material innovation, industrial manufacturing processes, inter-industry symbiosis, design practices, impact analysis, B2B relationships, consumer attitudes. To cover these levels, four key activities are planned:
- Educational project with Ananas Anam company, (maker of Pinatex® – an innovative natural textile made from waste pineapple leaf fibre): 10 weeks to develop a product proposition with a team of students in design, management and engineering;
- Interdisciplinary research seminar with researchers, professionals and students to aimed to build an industry-oriented research community;
- Prospection for exchange or double degree opportunities between the Master in Fashion & materials of Université PSL and other EELISA members;
- Prospection for the development of a one-week course.
