We are looking for a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher who is interested in establishing his/her independent junior research group within our department. The call is open for any scientific topic matching and expanding the research foci of the Department of Biology. Candidates with submitted Emmy Noether or ERC grant applications are highly encouraged to apply.The group will be embedded in a highly interactive and internationally visible collaborative research network (FAU Humboldt professors, Leibnitz, Gates foundation, ERCs, etc.), has access to state of the art infrastructure (animal facility, green house, climate chambers, NHR, OICE, Sequencing core, S2 facilities), and will be integrated into the departmental teaching tasks.The junior research group will be scientifically fully independent, but associated with one of the research groups within the Department of Biology (www.biology.nat.fau.eu).We offer the group leader position (A13/E13) and a researcher position (85% E13; flexible to use) for three years, laboratory space, annual lump sum for consumables and shared usage of the central research facilities within the department.
Your profile
Necessary qualifications:
Candidates should have an outstanding PhD degree in Biology or related subjects, and postdoctoral experience; we expect candidates to have an outstanding track-record with publications in internationally recognised peer-review journals and to be recognised by their research community. We expect distinct self-initiative and a strong interest to participate scientifically within the department.
Desirable qualifications:
Successful acquisition of competitive third-party funds to finance ones own position (e.g., Emmy Noether or comparable) will allow the candidate to flexibly use all funds for personnel provided by the department.
